How our partner program works: referral links, tiers and payouts

There are two ways to send people our way and get something back: a partner program for people who refer businesses as part of their work, and a referral link for customers who want to send a colleague over.

For partners

You apply with your name and email, plus an optional line about where you'd send people from. We email you a link to confirm the address, then a person on our team reviews the application. If you're approved, your welcome email has your referral link and a private link to your scoreboard, which shows clicks, inquiries from your traffic, signups, confirmed signups, and what you've earned and been paid. We email you the same numbers once a month. If you'd rather your link carried your name than a random code, just ask.

For each business that signs up through your link and gets confirmed, we pay you a percentage of the profit on everything it orders here. Profit means what they pay minus what the goods cost us, recorded on every order line, and their software subscription payments count in full because software has no goods cost. Your base rate is set when you're approved. Under the current program terms, a confirmed business keeps earning you commission for as long as it keeps ordering and you stay in the program. We pay on margin rather than gross revenue because it's a number we can afford to keep paying. Commission goes into the ledger as each month closes, and payouts are arranged with our team directly (you can message us from the scoreboard).

Confirmed signups also move you up the tiers. You start as a Scout, your first confirmed signup makes you Bronze, and Silver starts at 3, Gold at 10 and Platinum at 25. From Silver up, each new confirmed signup is written at your base rate plus one percentage point at Silver, two at Gold and three at Platinum. Moving up a tier doesn't change the rate on signups you already have, and the scoreboard shows how far you are from the next tier and what it pays.

For customers

Every business account has its own referral link on its Rewards page. When a business you refer signs up and is confirmed, your account gets a referral credit, and while the welcome credit is running, the business you referred gets one too. Our team applies credit against an order or a platform invoice. The Partner Program page shows the current amounts.

What confirmed means

A signup only starts paying once it's confirmed. Every signup that comes in through a referral link is checked for fraud first, and anything that looks off waits for someone on our team. The Partner Program page says how long a clean signup takes. Self-referrals, fake signups and cookie stuffing don't get paid, and they can get you removed from the program.

A click on your link counts for 30 days, and if someone clicks more than one referral link, the first one gets the credit. If they click someone else's link later, the signup is still yours. The click is tracked with a cookie, so the signup needs to happen in the browser they clicked from.

Partners are independent contractors, not our employees or agents. When you promote us, say that you earn a commission. The FTC's endorsement guides call for that in the US, and it's in our program terms.
